The Parable Effect: Discovering our Intuition.

In the movie our main character is told about intuition, then sees it occurring in others (by their expression) and finally becomes aware of them in himself. It's one of the story lines in the film that most viewers say they want to see additional times.

The key to developing intuition is to step back mentally into a full witness position (meditation trains us to do this) and to practice observing our own thoughts. This interrupts the illusion, (that most of us share) that we think all of our thoughts. Certainly we can run thoughts through our heads deliberately, like when speaking silently to ourselves when solving problems. I call these thoughts strategic thinking. But if we pay attention, we can notice other thoughts that merely arrive in our minds -- like for instance, when we suddenly think of an old friend after many months of not having them in mind at all.

We take credit for having the thought at that time, but in reality, the thought only dawns on us. It is a gift, an intuition of something we should do at that moment. In the case of the old friend, it is an urging to get in touch. When we do, as quickly as possible, something synchronistically informative always happens.

It is the same with all intuitions. They arrive to guide us in the moment, urging us to say something, go somewhere, put ourselves in some life position, a position that always opens some door of evolution and growth. Just stay alert...
